Urban & Natural Landscapes
David Brammeld RBA PS RBSA SPDF MAFA
My art explores both natural landscape and urban built environment I am fascinated by the enduring beauty of the ever-changing natural landscape, especially the character of trees in autumn, winter and early spring when they are devoid of their foliage revealing their inner strength and beauty. I want to evoke the feeling of being immersed in this landscape.
Exploring the mystery of abandoned buildings with all their fascinating architectural detail and weathered texture is a lifelong interest. I feel obliged to document the transformation of a place in this fast-changing post-industrial world.
I work spontaneously and intuitively in a variety of media including pastel, acrylic, graphite, oil or mixed media according to what the subject suggests. I like to keep my work fresh by working on several pieces at any time and alternating between one medium and another.
